Admissions Procedure & Requirements

The Surin International School (TSIS) pursues to seek and recognise the best in all our students whether they are inside or outside their classrooms. We call upon and accept children from different origins, ethnicity and community whose families are fully committed to an international education that shadows the UK curriculum. Admissions are acknowledged and approved throughout the year and students are guaranteed of a warm welcome from the TSIS community.

Places can fill up very quickly and our advice is to submit an application as soon as possible. Do allow us to guide you through the application process according by following the following procedures.

Step 1 : Application 

Complete the Application Form. A hardcopy of the form can be obtained from the school's administrative office, or you may request a softcopy from our school administrator: schooladmin@surinacademy.com The application form must be completed with the required supporting documents and submitted to the school. Copies of supporting documents can be in the form of physical copies or scanned copies sent via email. The Application Form and supporting documents must be submitted in person directly to the school's administrative office or scanned and sent through email to schooladmin@surinacademy.com

Step 2 :
Application Review

Once we receive your completed Application Form together with required supporting documents listed above, the school will take 5-10 working days to review the application based on the following key areas and will contact you for further clarification if needed. The criteria that we will need to consider when reviewing your application are: · Year Group Placement · English language ability · Learning needs assessment · Medical and Physical needs · Visa requirements · Child protection and custody · Waiting List

Step 3 :
Trial Day

A trial day will be scheduled for the Student pursuant to the result of the application review and seat available for the Academic Year requested. An invitation to sit for the trial day will be emailed to you upon availability. Depending on the teacher’s observation, we may also request an extension of the trial days. The trial day has a non-refundable and non-transferable Application Fee of RM 180 per day for each application. Payment for Application Fee can be made via: · Cash or Credit card (pay at the School’s administration office) · Cheque (payable to Beyond Academics Sdn Bhd). Write out your child’s name and intake year at the back of the cheque. · Online banking · Foreign Remittance: Kindly include an additional amount in view of bank charges and foreign exchange fluctuation (if foreign currency is used) as these charges must be borne by the sender. Kindly include the Student’s name as a reference on the transaction. A copy of the transaction document must be forwarded to the School’s administration with the sender and student’s name. The School’s bank details are as follows: Account Name: BEYOND ACADEMICS SDN BHD Account No.: 001 009 12139 Swift Code: HLBBMYKLXXX (-or- HLBBMYKL) Bank: HONG LEONG BANK BERHAD As the Ringgit Malaysia (MYR) is not an international tradable currency, please use another currency for overseas transfers. eg. US Dollars, Sterling Pounds, Euro, Australian Dollars, etc.

Step 4 :
Offer Letter

The trial day result will be available within (5-10) working days. Both successful and non-successful application will be notified by email. Successful applicants will be issued an Offer of Acceptance Letter. You may then choose to accept or decline the offer within and no later than the stipulated date stated in the letter of offer. Registration Fee and Security Deposit must be paid by the stipulated deadline stated in the letter of offer to confirm a place.

Step 5 :
Admission 

All other school fees must be paid before the commencement of each term, within and no later than the stipulated deadline as stated in the invoice. Late charges will apply for payment made after the deadline. Before your child begins school, you will receive additional information: · Access to school communication system (School2Me app) · School's Academic Calendar · ECA / CCA list · Other relevant information
